• Other: I do a lot of reviews, both positive and negative, and obviously food, drinks, atmosphere, and service are all subjective. I try to be as honest as I can because when I’m looking for somewhere new to eat, grab a drink, or spend an evening with friends, I want to read reviews that actually give me a sense of what the experience is going to be like. With that said, I almost don’t want to write this one because I genuinely feel like this place is one of the best kept secrets around. I think part of the reason more people don’t know about it is the location, but honestly, that’s one of my favorite things about it. It feels tucked away and a little hidden, and then you walk inside and it’s an entirely different experience. The atmosphere is such a vibe without feeling like it’s trying too hard to be one. Kasey, the owner, greets you upon arrival 99.9% of the time when you come in. His knowledge of wine is incredible. I have learned so much just from talking with him, and their wine selection is fantastic! They also offer speciality cocktails, and the espresso martini, no words….. it’s a dream, best in the state. The food is just as good. The menu has enough variety without being overwhelming, and I have genuinely never ordered something here that I didn’t think was delicious. The pricing is also incredibly reasonable for the quality and the overall experience. But what really makes this place special is the people. Everyone who works here is wonderful, and Kasey especially has a way of making you feel genuinely welcome every time you walk through the door. I would selfishly love to keep this place a secret because I love everything about it exactly the way it is, but that wouldn’t be fair. If you’re looking for somewhere for a date night, girls night, drinks with friends, or just a place to sit down, have some good food and wine, and enjoy a few hours of peace and fun, go here. Going out is something most of us are probably more thoughtful about spending money on these days, and I can honestly say I have never left here regretting that I spent an evening out. • Other: Hosted a private party here and it was fantastic. The staff was super responsive and accommodating. Great wine selection and interesting food menu. The interior is beautiful. • Other: Finding this place has me SO excited to come back regularly! We heard they do Thursday Trivia nights so me and my friends made a reservation. We were blown away by the atmosphere, the service, and the WINE SELECTION! Casey was AMAZING at giving us information about the different wines, flights, and food they offer. I loved all the different themed flights they had, and it was really fun to try 6 different wines for under $25. The food was so delicious and creative, the trivia host was hilarious and it was all very organized. We hung out for over 2 hours and just had the best time. Oh and the espresso martini? Absolutely the best i have EVER had. Go try it and have them tell you why it's the best. They put so much care into everything they do. • Other: Bar a Vin is my favorite bar in SLC! Great place to explore different wines I would've never tried before. They have a large wine selection, on tap I believe, where you can get tasting pours. I love their curated flights which really help you explore the world of wine. I loved their australian/new zealand "down under" flight the most. They also have great food, especially their pizzas. I've come back here multiple times now and keep finding new things to try! • Other: After visiting this place one time, I knew I had a real problem on my hands. My friends and family are sick of hearing about this place. I'm simply not done raving. The vibes are great, the staff is so nice, welcoming and knowledgeable and the food is terrific. The wine selection is off the charts. Over 90 different bottles to choose from and you are able to get a 1/3/5oz pour of ANY of them. Their wine flights are so fun and a great way to try a bunch of things. This place is a game changer! • Other: I've been to Bar a Vin a couple times with girlfriends and it's always a wonderful experience. The food is incredible! Think small bites and pizzas. We went around Halloween and they had a themed cocktail and mocktail menu (we had a couple of those at our table) and they were so unique and tast, I almost wish I'd gotten one of those if I didn't love wine so much! • Other: We went to Bar à Vin for a double date. It was the first time for my 3 companions. The wine menu is vast, but digestible with the great help of the service staff; Angela is a knowledgeable and genuinely a fantastic server. We shared a charcuterie board, the meatballs, and truffle popcorn to start; all tasty and well presented. I felt the pizzas are ho-hum, but decent. • Other: This was my first time, but coworkers have gone. It was great. We went early (5) and they held some couches and tables for our group. Although I hate separate checks as a rule, this was a company group so no alcohol was allowed. They let us order with separate tabs which was helpful. The menu is small but good. Service was solid (it was slow,but still, attentive service). It’s so heard to find good wine in SLC and they have done a nice job given the state’s restrictions and hurdles. Decor is a little conventional for my taste , but I think most people would like it. And it’s dark which is so refreshing in SLC (the city of terrible bright lighting!) • Other: I celebrated my birthday here and couldn’t have picked a better spot! The servers and the owner were so kind, welcoming, and genuinely fun—they made the night feel extra special. The atmosphere is relaxed but lively, the wine selection is excellent, and the staff go out of their way to make sure you feel at home.
